Digging for quartz crystals is a fun activity for the whole family. Arkansas has some of the world’s largest and finest deposits of quartz crystals. The closest mines are the Ron Coleman and Sweet Surrender mines, however, our favorite has always been the Wegner mine although it is a bit of a drive.

Nearby Places for Food

The Arkansas Scenic 7 Byway is among the most scenic drives in America. As you wind through the 7, you will travel through four of the state's varied geographical regions. It is a popular scenic drive and is especially noted for its exquisite fall colors. Look for landmarks and outlooks to really take in the mountain views.
